Bilsthorpe
Located midway between Mansfield and Newark, Bilsthorpe is a small friendly community close to the National Trust's Rufford Park and the holiday village Center Parcs.
The village is positioned near the junction of the A617 and A614 trunk roads, which offer easy access to Mansfield, Doncaster, Nottingham, Newark and Lincoln.
The historical town of Newark, which has many old timber framed buildings, is just 20 minutes drive away. It offers high street shopping and a regular street market with the mainline station providing a rail link to London in a little over an hour. Nottingham with its abundance of shops and boutiques is a similar distance away.
The River Trent and the Castle are just two of the many attractions that regularly encourage thousands of visitors to the ancient town of Newark.
Leisure facilities including country walks, golf, swimming and cricket are available locally but for the more serious sporting individual or spectator a visit to Mansfield or Nottingham where league class football, county cricket, ice hockey and ten pin bowling are just a short drive away. |
