Family homes for the future – Rippon Homes steps up search for land
Rippon Homes has stepped up its search for land in a in a bid to meet growing demand for traditional family houses.
Backed by its parent company, Artisan (UK) Plc, Rippon Homes has recently secured a number of new sites in Nottinghamshire and is extending its search to include areas of Lincolnshire Derbyshire and South Yorkshire where it has previously successfully developed in recent years.
John Jones, Managing Director for Rippon Home explained, “We are delighted to be stepping up our search for new land as it signifies a return of confidence in the market from both the company and our customers.
“Most importantly though the move also marks a stark change in the types of homes people want to see in their neighbourhoods – and it is a change we welcome readily.
“Neither the public nor local planners want to see any more high density developments of three-storey properties and apartment blocks and whilst we have built this type of product occasionally in the past, our core offering has always been traditional, two-storey houses.
“We now intend to develop this further by only looking for sites which will suit traditional house styles. In addition we have brought back the three-bedroom detached home style which we’ve not had call to build for the past 10 years.”
Rippon believes the three-bedroom, detached home will fill a gap in the market between four-bedroom detached houses and three-bedroom semis. In the same vein the company has also re introduced the bungalow into its portfolio. The needs of first-time buyers have not gone unnoticed and a range of 2 bedroom houses are planned to meet their need for affordability.
John concluded, “We have always had a policy of listening to our customers and now more than ever this has come to the fore of our business expansion plans. So many of our customers, whether they are new buyers or moving for the third or fourth time, tell us they want to see real houses that look like houses; houses that have front and rear gardens, a driveway and good amount of space between them and their next door neighbour and we don’t think this is too much to ask.”
Established in 1946, Rippon Homes is renowned for building high quality, traditional family homes for local people, using local labour. This new programme will add to the company’s current portfolio of 10 new homes developments, four of which are in Mansfield itself and will see new jobs created as production commences during the summer months.
The land search comes on the back of the completion of one of the company’s larger developments – Woodfields in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, which is recently all sold out
Landowners, agents, introducers and others with land for disposal are invited to contact John Jones directly on 01623 659 000.
